Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains how you can cancel your CricWa subscription and when you are entitled to a refund. It applies to all CricWa subscriptions (₹100 per month) processed via Razorpay.

1. How to cancel

You can cancel your paid subscription at any time, in any of these ways:

  • WhatsApp: Reply STOP to the CricWa Bot. Your subscription, the recurring payment mandate, and all alerts are cancelled immediately. We send a confirmation within a minute.
  • Email: Write to [email protected] from the email or WhatsApp number associated with your account, with the subject line "Cancel subscription". We will process the cancellation within 1 working day and reply to confirm.
  • Bank or UPI app: You can cancel the recurring mandate directly from your bank's app (e.g. via "Manage AutoPay" or "e-Mandates"). This stops future debits but does not by itself cancel your CricWa account; we recommend also replying STOP on WhatsApp.

There is no cancellation fee and no minimum commitment. Cancellation takes effect immediately for future billing cycles.

2. Refund eligibility

CricWa is a digital subscription service delivered immediately on WhatsApp. We aim to be fair while also protecting against abuse. The following refund rules apply:

2.1 Activation failure

If your paid subscription is not activated on your WhatsApp number within 24 hours of a successful payment and you contacted us about it, you are entitled to a full refund of that charge.

2.2 Duplicate or accidental charge

If you have been charged twice for the same billing cycle, or if a payment was charged after you had already cancelled, contact us within 30 days. We will issue a full refund of the duplicate or post-cancellation charge.

2.3 First-time subscriber 7-day refund window

If you are a first-time subscriber to CricWa and you cancel within 7 days of your first payment, you can request a full refund of that first charge, no questions asked. This window does not apply to renewals.

2.4 Renewal charges

Subsequent monthly renewal charges are non-refundable once the billing cycle has begun, except in the cases described in 2.1, 2.2, and 2.5. Cancellation stops future renewals; you will continue to receive paid features until the end of the cycle you have already paid for.

2.5 Service unavailability

If CricWa is materially unavailable (no alerts delivered for a major scheduled match the user had selected, due to a CricWa-side fault) for an aggregate of more than 48 hours within a billing cycle, you are entitled to a pro-rata refund for the affected days on request. Outages caused by WhatsApp/Meta, Razorpay, your network, or force majeure are excluded.

3. How to request a refund

To request a refund, send us an email at [email protected] from the email or WhatsApp number associated with your account, with:

  • The Razorpay payment ID (we sent this in the WhatsApp confirmation, or you can find it on Razorpay's email receipt).
  • The date and amount of the charge.
  • The reason for the refund (mapped to one of 2.1–2.5 above).

We aim to acknowledge refund requests within 2 working days and to issue approved refunds within 5 to 7 working days. Once issued, Razorpay typically credits the refund back to the original payment instrument within 5 to 10 working days, depending on your bank or UPI provider. We do not issue refunds in cash or to a different instrument from the one originally used.

4. Chargebacks

If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us first at [email protected] before raising a chargeback or dispute with your bank. We will resolve genuine billing issues quickly. Initiating a chargeback without contacting us, or after a refund has been declined under this policy, may result in suspension of your account. We retain the right to contest unjustified chargebacks with Razorpay using transaction logs and WhatsApp delivery records.

5. Cancellation by us

If we suspend or terminate your subscription for a reason that is not a violation of our Terms of Service (for example, we discontinue the Service), we will issue a pro-rata refund for any unused portion of your current billing cycle. If termination is due to your violation of the Terms (including chargeback abuse, payment fraud, or WhatsApp policy violations), no refund is owed.
